Progressive Community Awards
Halifax Community College (HCC) is proud to announce its upcoming Progressive Community Awards Ceremony, which will take place on April 6, 2023, at 6:00 PM, in the Dr. Ervin V. Griffin, Sr. Centre, located on HCC’s campus.
The Progressive Community Awards recognizes individuals, organizations, and businesses in the Roanoke Valley that have made significant contributions to the betterment of the community. Awards will be presented in three categories: Community Bridge Builder, Faith in Action, and Youth Impact.
The Honorable Judge Brenda Branch, Superior Court Judge for Halifax County, will give remarks during the program. Judge Branch broke new ground when she was appointed as the first African American and first female Chief District Court Judge in Halifax County in August 2008 and the first female chief district court judge in Bertie, Hertford and Northampton Counties, in 2014. In 2022, Judge Branch was elected as the new Halifax County Superior Court judge.
The Progressive Community Awards ceremony promises to be an uplifting and inspiring event that celebrates the power of community involvement and recognizes those who work tirelessly to make the Roanoke Valley a better place to live and work. We look forward to seeing you there.
Further details about the ceremony can be found on the college's website at halifaxcc.edu.
